Vision On Day???

We're hoping to organise a 'Vision On' event (a kind of reunion) at Radio Gloucester in 2005 as part of the 'BBC Experience'. L booth Booth is pictured here at the same event this year after repairing a stranded dalek in a corridor with a ping pong ball and glue.

Wilf Lunn and Pat Keysell have already agreed to attend the event. The Prof has yet to confirm but it would seem likely that he'd be keen to attend. Tony Hart will be unable to attend the event due to ill health but thanks all of you for you best wishes and hopes the event goes with a real bang! Naturally Prof videos and other merchandise would be available on the day. Canadian and French fans are VERY welcome if they can come over next Summer as this will be a totally one-off event and unfortunately only possible here in the UK. It will be the first time the original team have been together again since 1976 and of course it will be 41 years since Vision On first started!

Watch this space.......

It was 40 years in 2004 since Vision On (or "Déclic" as it was known in Canada) first appeared on our screens (March 6th to be specific). For those lucky enough to have Prof Videos or even old episodes of Vision On - enjoy. The chances of any of this material being added to the BBC catalogue seem unlikely, although they all reside in their archives. For Prof Film Clips Click Here

"Its Prof Again" is complete for the moment - we're now far more reliant on input via the forum and guestbook to keep content fresh but research never actually stops. David Wyatt (cameraman & 'Burglar' in 'Cid Sleuth') has recently been answering questions in the forum and whilst we can't guarantee speedy replies to questions, if you need to know anything - just ask. Many of the Vision On crew log in to the forum so its always worth posting comments (even praise) as they DO read it and will often reply.

Sadly, 'Vision On' is NOT available on video or DVD. The BBC have NO plans to release any as demand would need to be high to warrant paying royalties to those involved in the series (look how long it took for the 'Goodies' to be released). Please don't ask us for Videos (other than 'Prof' videos) - we don't have any. Copyright for 'Vision On' resides entirely with the BBC. Prof films remain copyright of CAW films and are available through this site at reasonable cost but these do NOT include other Vision On material. Our only suggestion is that you join the Forum and see if someone will do a swap. A few episiodes seem to circulate (origins unknown) but they are rare to say the least. Also not ALL Prof films are available. Many of the original Prof film cans were thrown out by the BBC in the 70s and frustratingly, the only surviving copies of these are currently sitting dormant on VCR in BBC archives.

The Prof film clip is periodically changed (for variety) and is currently the 'Cossack Prof' clip. It is very time consuming recoding clips to work on the Net, and anyway these clips are really a taster of the video so if you haven't got it - WHY NOT???

Test your knowledge of Vision On and the Prof

Ok, don't blame me if there are any errors. It took ages to put it together. Some clues are easy, some more cryptic but its all based around Vision On. If you'd like to submit a crossword of your own (and we won't get any new ones unless you do) feel free to let us know. Ready? Here goes.

Prof's Lab

The forum is generally a good source for recent information. Anything I think needs adding to the rest of the site eventually gets added in but the Forum is great for questions and/or discoveries. The Guestbook is always worth a read since it contains thoughts and recollections of people who watched Vision On.

Lastly, an additional page has been added which explains how the site came about and a little about the editor and forum administrators. Click here to view the page.

Where Can I get a copy of Vision On programmes?

The most common question we get by far. Firstly, there are NO episodes available commercially and its highly unlikely that the BBC will release any - other than possible airings on BBC choice or perhaps as part of some compilation video. However, there ARE episodes around and whilst there should be no money changing hands its possible that other members may be able to point you in the right direction. For this reason, I temporarily replaced the guestbook with a forum (brand new - I'm relying on you lot to start filling it up!). Hopefully the forum should allow you to contact each other, arrange swaps or just tell us what YOU remember about Vision On & The Prof. Many of the Vision On crew also look in on the forum so its worth joining!

Film Clips

A few clips are available on our film clips page. We rotate clips every few months for variety (or by demand) but the Video is must!

Reunion (left)

Pat Keysell & Tony Hart finally met up on 5th November 2003 after some 30 years since 'Vision On' expired. Pat is still very active in drama and working hard on a community arts project in the south.

Music Themes

A thread has been started in the forum which lists many of the themes used including sources for them. Questions about music used should now be posted in the forum - thanks.

Vision On - Treasured Item

Thanks to Julian Smith for kindly allowing us to reproduce (right) the letter and signed photo he recieved in 1973. Surely the Turin Shroud/Holy Grail of 'Its Prof Again'.......(grin). Click to see enlarged.

An Audience with David Wyatt & David Cleveland

If you're interested in organising an evening of the Prof & Cid Sleuth, please contact:

David Cleveland, PO box 7608, Manningtree, Essex.

Both David Cleveland and David Wyatt are willing to give talks on how they made these films to groups of TV enthusiasts for a reasonable fee plus expences. Depending on distance they may need to stay overnight, which would be reflected in overall costs. They show a LOT of stuff and can bring projection equipment if none is available. Any forthcoming events set up by enthusiasts can be posted in the forum or advertised on the site free of charge.

Gallery Music

This is quite a giggle. Like the gallery music? Download a rather silly screensaver from Concrete Elephant!

FREE DESKTOP IMAGE!

A free desktop posterised image of The Prof can now be downloaded. It is only for personal use and may not be reproduced without permission of CAW films. It is sized at 800X600. Simply click picture to go to full size image then right-click and select 'save image as' to save to your hard drive. Have fun!
